Emissions and Pollution: addressing the challenge
At the first IRF Conference on Roads and Environment, we concluded that there is no one silver bullet to tackle the increasing environmental challenge.
Under the theme Emissions and pollution: addressing the challenge, we will have the opportunity at this second conference to look in more details into the priority themes identified last year. We will examine the way to tackle emissions and pollutions of noise, materials, water and air. Concrete examples of proven best practices will show the time, research and resources invested by the road industry into eco-friendly processes and materials. Researchers, policy-makers, practitioners from both the public and the private sector will gather in Geneva to present and discuss inspiring solutions to address the environmental challenge today for a better world tomorrow.
The 2nd IRF Conference on Roads and Environment will also organize a high level panel discussion on Trading on Carbon Markets. The financial community is offering a number of green investment opportunities. Specialist will look into sense and non-sense of these financial instruments, the problems of carbon pricing and the social responsibility of investors.
The upcoming Conference will be a unique opportunity to learn about the latest technical developments in the road sector and to discover all about the newest trends in investment policies.

The IRF walks its talk, and as a leader in environmental issues for road construction, we are proud to make the 2nd IRF conference on 'Roads and Environment' carbon neutral with myclimate, one of the leading providers of carbon offsetting measures. The carbon offset charges levied from the registration fees will fund emissions reductions through one of the independently verified projects of the myclimate portfolio.
